Norris Library Adds AccessPediatrics

Just in!  Norris Library has added AccessPediatrics  to its line-up of McGraw-Hill integrated online resources.  AccessPediatrics is organized around a set of core topics covering pediatric practice from neonatology through adolescent medicine and is designed to meet the needs of medical students, pediatric residents, general practitioners, and pediatric specialists.

Free Apps Available from the National Library of Medicine

Did you know that the National Library of Medicine (NLM) has created free apps (for iPad, iPod and others) in addition to PubMed and other familiar databases? To date, six apps, covering a variety of topics, have been released and are available for free download:

“Embryo” provides access to a collection of digital serial sections of early stage human embryos. Features include human fertilization videos, photo micrographs of early-stage embryo development, 2D and 3D digital images using visual stack dissections and a pregnancy calculator.*

Discussing Medical Error Title Added

Recently added to Norris Library’s print collection, Talking with Patients and Families About Medical Error: A Guide for Education and Practice (W 62 T146 2011) by Robert D. Truog, M.D., et al, addresses the issue of patient safety and medical error.
