UpToDate is now truly up-to-date. The database has moved to a continuous publishing format, adding all updates to the program when peer review is completed instead of making only important updates as they are reviewed and doing periodic bulk uploading of the remaining updates. Initial estimates of the process indicate that approximately 150 to 200 topics are changed per day.
Also new is a green “Summary and Recommendations” button added at the top of each topic outline for quick access to that section. Treatment topics also contain graded recommendations that link to a complete description of the underlying evidence. A grading guide and tutorial are included to explain the system used to grade the strength and quality of the clinical guidelines.
