Science Writer Mary Roach to Discuss All of Her Books

MaryRoachJPGUSC Visions and Voices presents a conversation with America’s funniest science writer, Mary Roach, Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 5:30 p.m.  on the Health Sciences Campus, Mayer Auditorium.

The author has investigated the science around sex, cadavers, the afterlife and travel to Mars and shared her findings in humorous, captivating prose.  She is the author of the New York Times best sellers Packing for Mars:  The Curious Science of Life in the Void, Stiff:  The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers, Spook:  Science Tackles the Afterlife and Bonk:  The Curious Coupling of Science and Sex.  Her newest book, Gulp:  Adventures on the Alimentary Canal, takes us on a journey through the digestive system.  With her characteristic intelligence and wit, Roach will discuss the medical and scientific aspects of her books with Megan Rosenbloom of the USC Norris Medical Library.  In conjunction, the USC Libraries will display rare medical and science materials related to Roach’s book topics.
