PubMed’s My NCBI account users have two new options for saving citations. Now you can download citations as a text file that can be imported into EndNote, Refworks or other citation manager software. AccessPhysiotherapy Added to Norris Library
April 9, 2012AccessPhysiotherapy, the newest title in McGraw-Hill’s digital learning platform, was recently added to Norris Library’s eResources collection. The database provides searchable, full-text access to McGraw-Hill physical therapy and internal medicine titles, interactive imaging content, curricular management tracking tools and tests, more than 80 videos, neurology lectures and image banks. Summer symposium will facilitate Bioinformatics collaboration

Interdisciplinary collaborations between bioinformatitians/biostatistitians and biology/medical researchers are becoming more important to every aspect of genomic research and are key to ensuring successful grant applications. As a means of establishing a campus-wide mechanism to systematically facilitate and support such collaboration, a half-day symposium titled “Navigating an ocean of ‘Omics data with bioinformatics collaboration” is scheduled for late summer and jointly organized by the Norris Medical Library and Keck School of Medicine Vice Present of Research, Dr. Randy Hall. OpenHelix™ will present “World Tour of Genome Resources” on February 11, 2011 from 2:15 pm – 3:15 pm in the Aresty Auditorium on the USC Health Sciences Campus. The seminar will discuss the number and breadth of publicly available bioscience resources available to researchers. NML to host Hands-On Bioinformatics Workshops

The Norris Medical Library Bioinformatics Service Program will host training workshops on the UCSC Genome Browser and ENCODE (the ENCyclopedia Of DNA Elements) on February 10 and February 11.
Sponsored by the UCSC Bioinformatics Group and the Norris Medical Library Bioinformatics Service Program, Sessions 1-3 will offer a seminar and hands-on computer workshop on the Browser, a versatile sequence/data/annotation visualization and mining solution for 46 model organisms and Sessions 4 and 5 will introduce the ENCODE project, its background, data types and access from the UCSC Genome Browser.
