We are pleased to introduce the library’s new bioinformatics specialist, Yi-Bu Chen. Yi-Bu, who received his Ph.D. in biology from Renssalear Polytechnic Institute, provides support and training for bioinformatics databases, software and related online resources.
Health Sciences faculty and graduate students are encouraged to take advantage of Yi-Bu’s expertise through the following services:
- scheduled or specially arranged workshops on bioinformatics databases and software
- consultation on online bioinformatics databases, tools and software
- consultation on the analysis and interpretation of molecular biology data
Additionally, Yi-Bu develops and maintains the Norris Library web pages on the Bioinformatics Support Programs portal site which provides extensive descriptions, instructions and links to key resources in the field. The Bioinformatics electronic mailing list is available to keep faculty and researchers updated on the latest bioinformatics databases and software tools and inform them of upcoming workshops.
