Launched last month, Wellcome Images is the world’s leading source of images on the history of medicine, modern biomedical science and clinical medicine. All content is available under a Creative Commons License, allowing users to copy, distribute and display images, as long as the sources are fully attributed and used for non-commercial purposes. The site allows you to enter keywords to find images and provides several themed galleries for browsing.
Wellcome Images is constantly updated with new images from the Wellcome Library, Europe’s leading resource for the study of history of medicine. Everything from an oil painting of Florence Nightingale and a picture depicting Charles Darwin as an ape, to a photograph of Alexander Fleming in his laboratory are part of this unique collection. Use these images as enhancements for your teaching, presentations and research.
