The thing the library needs most is extended hours (especially on Fridays Saturdays). It should open earlier and close later on these days (at the very least, it should open at 8am and close at 10pm).

This can easily be done without much increased cost (assuming that the increased cost from paying someone to staff the library is what is holding back extended hours). There are often way more librarians at the front desk than needed. Usually, there is one or two working (putting away books, helping people, etc) and the other one or two are sitting behind the desk playing on the computer or texting on their cell phones. Instead of this waste of money for paying staff that aren’t working, their shifts should be moved to overlap less and have extended hours.

Please ask people who have really smelly food to leave. Snacks I understand, but people shouldn’t be bringing in meals that are in leftover/take-out boxes

Working in a hospital where there are communal computers, alcohol wipes are provided which allow all users to clean the computers before and/or after use to ensure there is a decrease spread of bacteria and viruses. It would be very beneficial for Norris library to also do the same since so many people come thru to use these computers. It will also follow the trend of it being a healthscience campus.
