PubMed Mesh Database Gets New Look

The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) Database was recently redesigned to provide users with the same streamlined interface now available in PubMed®

Included in the new design is an autocomplete feature which anticipates and suggests possible MeSH terms for your entry.  To build a PubMed search from MeSH, enter your search terms and select the best one from the “autocomplete” feature.  Select terms from the results using the check boxes and click “Add to search builder” under the box to the right of the results.   Finally, click “Search PubMed”.

To add subheadings, click on the MeSH term to go to the Full display.  Use the check boxes to make your choices before clicking “Add to search builder”.  If you want to do a quick search without subheadings, select one of the choices under “All links from this record.”

Please refer to the NLM Technical Bulletin to see screenshots of these new changes.
