Norris Library recently added two books by Keck faculty to the print collection.
Contraception (WP 630 C764 2011) , edited by Donna Shoupe, MD, Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Keck School of Medicine, provides practical advice for clinicians assisting patients select a method of contraception. The book, part of the Gynecology in Practice series, is divided into three sections covering selection and cost comparison, individual methods of contraception, and risks and benefits for various patient groups.
Life on My Terms: A Physician’s Autobiography (History of Medicine Collection WZ 100 L655L 2010), tells the first-person story of Dr. Norman Levan’s career in medicine. Dr. Levan, professor emeritus and former chief of dermatology at the Keck School, earned his medical degree at USC in 1939. He endowed the USC Levan Institute for Humanities and Ethics in 2007 and the Norman E. Levan Chair in Medical Ethics at Keck in 2010. At the age of 95, Dr. Levan still practices medicine one day a week.
Both books are currently on the New Book Shelf and will be available to check out September 12, 2011.
