Maryalice Jordan-Marsh, associate professor at the USC School of Social Work, has received the Book of the Year Award from the American Journal of Nursing for Health Technology Literacy: A Transdisciplinary Framework for Consumer-Oriented Practice (Norris Medical Library call number W 83.1 J82h 2011).
Dr. Jordan-Marsh received her award in the category of information technology, which recognizes a book that explores the use of electronic media, computer systems and social or online media. Using evidenced-based practice and relevant theories, the book examines the wide range of resources used by health consumers to inform and support their decisions around their own health care.
